Back in 1995, after a very successful SEASPACE, we made a conscious effort to determine:
This process of introspection involved several people over a period of months. Led by the late Jane Segerstrom, we looked at ourselves and our show probably more critically than ever before. As a direct result of Jane's dedication, and her love of SEASPACE, we came up with a set of guiding principles, designed to keep us focused on the goals at hand.
We will thoroughly understand and anticipate the needs of our participants and then
satisfy them to the extent feasible. We are committed to a never ending process of
improving SEASPACE's performance and reputation. (Participants include exhibitors,
volunteers, presenters, attendees, contest entrants and others who have a "stake" in
SEASPACE. We will apply our energies to improving our customers' businesses, their knowledge and
enjoyment and thereby our own. Customers are the only reason SEASPACE can exist.
(Customers are participants who buy products and services from SEASPACE.)
Quality
Customer Satisfaction
Integrity
We will act at all times with integrity and honesty. We will comply with the law and
foster legal awareness and responsibility.
We win offer SEASPACE volunteers the opportunity to use and share their knowledge and experience with the expectation of increasingly more responsible assignments. We believe that SEASPACE's strength comes from its volunteers.
We will encourage clear, open and frequent communications so that volunteers and other participants can be effective in their jobs and to enable sound decision making. We will freely give and receive feedback.
We appreciate the value of creative, high performance volunteers and are committed to increasing their job satisfaction. Having fun should be a normal expectation.
We will encourage and support innovative approaches that help us add value for our participants and improve our operations. Innovation is not only the key to continuously improving SEASPACE but may be essential to SEASPACE's survival.
